Samastipur, Apr 26 : Congress president Rahul Gandhi today fired fresh salvo at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying 'time was over for NDA led BJP government being headed by a chowkidar.
Addressing an election meeting at Jitwarpur in the district, Mr Gandhi said Narendra Modi government`s days were numbered as people were completely annoyed with the present dispensation in the centre.
“Time is over for BJP government of chowkidar,” he remarked while taking a dig at Prime Minister Mr Modi.
“Modi Ji, you can address number of election meetings as per your wish but farmers are ready to give reply to you,” he added.
Accusing Narendra Modi government of not keeping its poll promises after coming to power in 2014, he said that demonetisation was imposed on the country in garb of fight against black money as crores of people stood in queues before banks following note ban.
“Demonetisation was imposed only to extend benefit to a few select industrialists,” he remarked while castigating the Centre for its decision.
The Congress president said that women, who had saved money for its use at the time of need were compelled to deposit their money in banks. He said that the Centre by taking out money from the pockets of common people had put cash in the pockets of industrialists like Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya.
“Whether Mr Modi`s promise of depositing Rs 15 lakh into the account of each country person made during 2014 Lok Sabha election campaign had not proved a gimmick ultimately,” he attacked Narendra Modi government through his poser.
