New Delhi, Apr 16: Soon after receiving a report from the Bureau of Immigration on Visa norm violation by Bangladeshi actor Ferdos Ahmad, the Government on Tuesday cancelled his Visa and also asked him to leave India immediately.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has also blacklisted him and asked the Kolkata Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) to ensure the compliance of the order, a senior MHA official said.
Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday sought report from Kolkata FRRO about the violation of Visa condition of Ferdous, who was allegedly campaigning for Trinamool Congress in Raiganj of West Bengal.
According to an MHA source, the Kolkata FRRO was asked to send a report on how the Bangladeshi actor, who came to India on a business trip, managed to allegedly address a public rally in Raiganj and seek votes for AITC candidate Kanhaiyalal Agarwal.
The West Bengal BJP has filed a complaint to the Election Commission in this regard, saying that it is a clear cut violation of the Model Code of Conduct. (UNI)
