Gaya, Apr 09: Congress president Rahul Gandhi today sought to reply the question in his own way on how huge fund would be arranged for providing Rs 72,000 per year to poor family as promised by his party, saying that it would be taken out from the pocket of big industrialists and businessmen like Anil Ambani, who got financial favour flouting rules under the regime of the Narendra Modi government.
Mr Gandhi, while addressing a rally seeking votes in favour of Grand Alliance candidate Jeetan Ram Manjhi for Lok Sabha elections here, said that his party had promised to give Rs 72,000 per year to poor families of the country under minimum income guarantee scheme if voted to power in ongoing parliamentary elections. A promise made by Congress was not like jumlas (gimmicks) of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it would be definitely fulfilled, he asserted.
Congress president said that he had promised to give Rs 72,000 per year directly to bank accounts of poor families with all sincerity and responsibility. Poor would definitely get this benefit if his party was voted to power after Lok Sabha elections, he said, adding that he had not promised to give Rs 15 lakhs to accounts of poor as had been promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014 Lok Sabha elections which turned out to be jumlas.
Mr Gandhi also responded to questions being raised on how huge fund would be arranged to give Rs 72,000 per year to most poor families whose population was about 20 per cent, saying that money would be taken out from the pockets of industrialists like Mr Anil Ambani who got huge financial benefits flouting all rules under regime of the Narendra Modi government. The money would be taken out from businessmen like Mr Ambani and it would be given to poor, he thundered. (UNI)
