Curfew remains clamped in Kishtwar, Bhaderwah , internet snapped

Jammu, Apr 10 : The curfew remained clamped on Wednesday in the Kishtwar district and Bhaderwah tesil of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir after the killing of RSS leader and his private security officer.

RSS leader Chanderkant Sharma and his PSO Constable Rajinder Kumar were shot dead by some unidentified gunmen on Tuesday in a hospital premises in Kishtwar.
The PSO died on the spot while the political activist was airlifted to Jammu for treatment but declared as brought dead. Authorities had imposed curfew in the town as preventive measure.

"The curfew remained in force for the second consecutive day as preventive measure to maintain law and order," police said. He further said that Army was called in and deployed in the Kishtwar town.

"Mobile internet service has also been suspended to prevent trouble mongers from spreading rumours and hatred messages on social media," he informed and added that decision of lifting the curfew and resuming internet service would be taken after holding meetings. Kishtwar would go to poll in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 18 with other districts including Doda, Ramban, Reasi, Udhampur and Kathua.

In November 2018, senior BJP leader Anil Parihar and his brother were also shot dead by some unknown gunmen. UNI
