Chennai, Apr 8 : Senior Congress leader and former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Monday sought to know as to how many crores of rupees were being spent on each rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the source of that money. In a series of tweets, he said for every rally of Mr Modi a pandal that was better than a rich family's marriage pandal was erected and wanted to know the source of this huge amount of money.
He also asked whether this expenditure was being added to the election expenditure of the candidate or the candidates. 'Heard from people attending one of PM's election rallies: how many crores of rupees are being spent on each rally?', he asked.'Is the expenditure on each PM rally being added to the election expenditure of the candidate or candidates in whose support the rally was held?', Mr Chidambaram added. 'At every rally there is a pandal that is better than a rich family's marriage pandal. There are tens of LED screens. What is the source of this huge amount of money?', he asked. (UNI)
