New Delhi, Apr 8 : The BJP on Monday said it was committed to the idea of simultaneous elections for Parliament, State assemblies and local bodies to reduce expenditure, ensure efficient utilisation of government resources and security forces.
'We are committed to the idea of simultaneous elections for Parliament, State assemblies and local bodies to reduce expenditure, ensure efficient utilisation of government resources and security forces and for effective policy planning,' said the manifesto unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here at party headquarters here.
The BJP said it will try to build consensus on the issue with all parties.
Stressing on importance of single voter list, the BJP said n order to ensure that every citizen gets the right to exercise his/her franchise for all public bodies and to avoid confusion created by multiple voter lists, the party will ensure a common voter list for all elections.
By accomplishing all these tasks, the BJP regime has presented the example of an accountable, sensitive and strong-willed government, the manifesto said.
Speaking after releasing the BJP ‘Sankalp Patra’ (manifesto) for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Prime Minister said, 'The foundation of the BJP ‘Sankalp patra’ is one mission, one direction. We have set 75 well-defined resolutions in our manifesto that we can fulfill in a time bound manner. We are moving forward with 'one mission, one direction'.'
He said that the NDA Government had strived to make India’s development policies multi-layered and bring in a multi-dimensional aspect to policies, so that they can be dynamic with respect to what the situation demands. (UNI)
