Lucknow, Apr 7 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address two election meetings in Aligarh and Moradabad on April 14, sources said here on Sunday. Polling in Aligarh is scheduled in the second phase on April 18, while of Moradabad in the third phase on April 23.
Earlier, the Prime Minister was slated to hold the rally in Aligarh on April 11, but now it has been fixed on April 14, sources informed. Meanwhile, BJP president Amit Shah is expected to reach the state capital Lucknow on Monday evening and will sit take a meeting with senior party leaders to review the election preparedness in 16 Lok Sabha seats of Awadh region. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, UP BJP president Mahendra Nath Pandey, UP Lok Sabha in-charge and Union Minister J P Nadda and state BJP general secretary (organisation) Sunil Bansal are expected to attend the meeting at the state party headquarters.
During his two day stay in Lucknow, Mr Shah is also likely to address a press conference on April 9 morning before leaving for campaigning. The Lok Sabha constituencies of Awadh region to be reviewed by Mr Shah are Hardoi, Mishrikh, Kheri, Dhaurara, Barabanki, Shravasti, Bahriach, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Faizabad, Ambedkarnagar, Mohanlalganj, Kaiserganj, Gonda, Sitapur and Unnao. Except for Rae Bareli, BJP had won all the seats in 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Meanwhile on Monday, the BJP is also slated to release its poll manifesto in New Delhi. (UNI)
