Lucknow, Apr 6 : India and Singapore will conduct joint military exercise from April 8 to 11 at Babina in Uttar Pradesh, a defence statement said on Saturday.
India and Singapore share a long-standing cultural, commercial and strategic relations with each other since times immemorial.
Singapore was one of the first countries to respond to India’s ‘Look East Policy’.
In 2003, India and Singapore signed a bilateral agreement on expanding military cooperation, conducting Joint Military Training, developing military technology and achieving maritime security. The two countries have also expanded their cooperation in jointly fighting terrorism.
A revised Defence Cooperation Agreement was signed between the two Countries to strengthen the existing defence relationship between Indian Military and Singapore Armed Forces on November 29, 2017.
As part of this agreement, the Armour Component of Singapore is slated to undergo a training and firing exercise jointly with Indian Army component at Babina for four days from April 8.
This will be the 12th India - Singapore exercise and referred to as Exercise BOLD KURUKSHETRA - 2019.
