Money used to waive loans & expenditure for PM’s publicity will fund NYAY : Ahmed Patel

Agency News

New Delhi, Apr 4: Money used to waive off loans for selected corporates and the extravagant expenditure for the Prime Minister’s publicity will be diverted to fund the NYAY Scheme by the Congress if it comes to power in 2019, senior Congress leader and AICC Treasurer Ahmed Patel said on Thursday.

In a series of tweets, Mr Patel said that the Congress has made a solemn commitment to the nation that money saved through wrongful bailouts and wasteful publicity will reach the bank accounts of the poor.
‘’All the money used to waive off loans for selected corporates & the extravagant expenditure for the Prime Minister’s publicity will be diverted to fund the NYAY Scheme by the next Congress government.

Unlike their 15 lakh Jumla, we have made a solemn commitment to the nation that money saved through wrongful bailouts & wasteful publicity will reach the bank accounts of the poor,’’ Ahmed Patel said in a tweet.

The comments by Mr Patel came a day after the Congress president, addressing a rally in Assam, said money for NYA will come from the pockets of likes of Anil Ambani.
“Modiji had asked us from where will the money come. It will come from the pockets of likes of Ambani. You stole our money and put it in their pockets, we will take from them,” he said.
The Congress on Tuesday released its manifesto for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The highlight of the manifesto, released by Congress president Rahul Gandhi, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and senior party leaders P Chidambaram and A K Antony, is the NYAY scheme which promises to deposit Rs 72000 per annum in the accounts of poorest 20 percent families of the country if the Congress comes to power at the centre in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
