Rahul contesting from Wayanad LS seat: BJP says he is feeling insecure

New Delhi, Mar 31: Reacting to decision by Congress president Rahul Gandhi to contest from two Lok Sabha seats of Amethi and Wayanad, the BJP on Sunday said he was feeling 'insecure and helpless' .
As soon as his decision of Rahul fighting Lok Sabha polls on north Kerala's Wayanad seat was announced, the BJP labelled him as 'Chunavi Hindu'
This will be Mr Gandhi's second Lok Sabha seat after his traditional seat of Amethi.
Talking to reporters here, senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar
Prasad said, 'As per 2011 census, only 49 percent of population of Wayanad is Hindu and Rahul Gandhi finds it a safe seat. He is only a "Chunavi Hindu".'
The Union Minister said Mr Gandhi , as a Captain, has ran away after noticing the sinking ship.
'This is what I feel about Rahul Gandhi's decision on contesting from Wayanad,' the senior BJP leader quipped.
Talking about Mr Gandhi's Amethi seat, Mr Prasad said,' Mr Gandhi's lies and fake narratives have been exposed and that has shaken his roots in Amethi. Also, now he is feeling 'helpless and insecure' in Amethi that is why he has ran to Wayanad for security.'
The Congress decision that its president Mr Gandhi will contest from Wayanad parliamentary seat - in addition to his family bastion of Amethi - was announced here on Sunday by senior Congress leader and former Union Minister A K Antony at a press conference addressed by him along with AICC General secretary K C Venugopal, AICC Kerala incharge Mukul Wasnik and AICC media incharge Randeep Surjewala.
Primarily dependent on agriculture-based economy, the Wayanad district is also famous for horticulture. There are large tribal presence and the region remains one of the development areas in the state mainly due to topographical conditions.
