New Delhi, Mar 31 : The task force on national security set up by the Congress under chairmanship of Lt General (Retd) DS Hooda, who oversaw the 2016 surgical strikes, on Sunday submitted its report to the party president Rahul Gandhi.
In a post on social media, Rahul said the report will at first be discussed and debated within the Congress party.
The task force had been set up by the Congress in February to prepare a vision document on national security for the next five years, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
''Lt General (Retd) DS Hooda and his team have put together a comprehensive report on India's national security, that he presented to me today. This exhaustive report will at first be discussed and debated within the Congress party. I thank him and the team for their effort,'' Rahul tweeted.
The task force, set up by the Congress president in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror strike, included people from the armed forces, diplomats for external security and police experts who have dealt with the Maoist insurgency.
