Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 28 : Those who were in the forefront to protect the customs and traditions of Lord Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala will get the support of believers, Pandalam Palace Coordination Committee member Sasikumar Varma said on Thursday.
Talking to media here, Varma said the palace will not involve in election campaign of political parties including BJP. He was reacting to the controversial Sabarimala issue following the SC verdict allowing the entry of women of menstruating ages into Lord Ayyappa temple.
The Palace would have supported BJP if the Centre had brought a legislation on women entry issue, he added.Meanwhile, BJP General Secretary and NDA candidate K Surendran sought the support of Pandalam Palace in the elections.
BJP State President PS Sreedharan Pillai said the party will bring a legislation if the law permits. (UNI)
