New Delhi, March 22: Taking a pot shot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the ‘MeinBhiChowkidar’ campaign, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday criticised the PM and the NDA Government for non payment of salaries to 'chowkidars' for last several months.
Taking to social media, Rahul, sharing news report that 10,000 chowkidars are not getting salary for last four months in BJP-ruled Jharkhand, wrote “at least take care of those people in whose garb you are hiding”.
According to news reports, “chowkidars across 24 districts, each of who monitors 10 villagers under one police station, have not been paid their salaries”.
To defend Congress' criticism against the Union government over Rafale fighter jet deal and the slogan 'chowkidar chor hai', coined by grand old party’s president Rahul Gandhi, the Prime Minister has started a counter campaign ‘MeiBhiChowkidar’, last week.
Subsequently, along with Mr Modi, Union Ministers and senior BJP leaders added a prefix ‘Chowkidar’ with their names in social media got a huge traction across the world.
However, with Friday’s attack, Mr Gandhi has indicated that the opposition will continue its attack on Modi government over corruption charges. (UNI)
