Thunderstorm, strong winds likely over northern India

Pune, Mar 11: Day temperatures were below normal in some parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Assam, and Meghalaya and were appreciably to mark below normal in some parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, east Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh.
Day temperatures were above normal in some parts of Odisha, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Telangana, Rayalaseema, interior Karnataka, Kerala,Tamil Nadu and were appreciably to markedly above normal in some parts of Tamil Nadu and Jammu and Kashmir.
Day temperatures were normal over the rest of the country. The highest maximum temperature recorded over the plains was 40.1 degrees celsius in Kurnool of Rayalseema.

Night temperatures were below normal in some parts of west Uttar Pradesh,Haryana,Chandigarh and Delhi,east Madhya Pradesh and were markedly below normal in some parts of Odisha. Night temperatures were above normal in coastal Andhra Pradesh and in some parts of Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh,Jammu and Kashmir,Rajasthan,Tamil Nadu,Kerala,and Rayalaseema.

Night temperatures were markedly above normal in some parts of Saurashtra and Kutch and were appreciably above normal in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal,west Madhya Pradesh,Gujarat Region,Telangana,Rayalaseema,and south interior Karnataka. Night temperatures were normal over the rest of the region.The lowest minimum temperature recorded in the plains was 10 degrees celsius in Karnal of Haryana.
Thunderstorm along with gusty winds is very likely over Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and east Rajasthan during next 24 hours.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh,Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Haryana, Punjab, west Rajasthan, south interior Karnataka and Kerala.
Mainly dry weather prevailed in Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Gujarat State, Konkan and Goa, madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and coastal and north interior Karnataka. UNI
