New Delhi, Mar 9: India's envoy to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria, who was called here for consultations on February 15 - a day after Pulwama attack, will return to Islamabad on Saturday and resume duties.
"High Commissioner of India to Pakistan, Bisaria, is returning to Islamabad after having completed his consultations in India. He will reach Islamabad on March 9 (Saturday) and resume his duties," MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar said in reply to a question.
Mr Bisaria was called by the Ministry of External Affairs for consultation after the Cabinet Committee on Security headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi directed the MEA to initiate all possible diplomatic steps to ensure complete isolation of Pakistan from the international community. The government also had decided to withdraw Most Favoured Nation status given to Pakistan for trade ties.
Pakistan also had later stage called its envoy to Sohail Mahmaood for consultations. Mahmood will also be returning India soon. Both sides are slated to have a delegation level talks on Kartarpur corridor on March 14. UNI
