NDMC bags cleanest Small City award

New Delhi, Mar 6: New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Wednesday bagged the award for the Cleanest City in Small City category (1-3 lakh population).

NDMC chairman Naresh Kumar received the award from President Ram Nath Kovind during the Swachh Survekshan Awards for 2019, an initiative of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The function was held at Vigyan Bhawan.

After receiving the award, the chairman told mediapersons that the Council had also been awarded ODF++ Status and 3-Star Garbage Free City Ranking in the nationwide swachhta award categories.

However, the overall ranking of NDMC is 5th in Swachh Survekshan 2019, even though the aggregate score as per Swachh Survekshan parameters places NDMC in second Place. It has also 3 Star Garbage Free Certification (GFC) Ranking status.

Congratulating the employees of NDMC in general and safai sevaks in particular, the Chairman said the credit for getting the swachhta awards and ranking goes to the team NDMC. (UNI)
