New Delhi, Mar 4: Joining issue with Congress president Rahul Gandhi for his remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the ordnance factory in Amethi, Union Ministers and BJP leaders Smriti Irani and Kiren Rijiju on Monday said the Congress chief was turning out to be a "compulsive liar" who tells falsehoods - "sometimes for no reason".
"Rahul Gandhi ji is holding a responsible position. Why don't some sensible people in Congress party tell him that compulsive liar is a person who tells falsehoods out of habit, sometimes for no reason at all," Union Minister Rijiju tweeted.
"It is also known as pathological lying, mythomania and habitual lying," the MoS Home said.
Smriti Irani, who had accompanied Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Amethi on Sunday, also lashed out at Gandhi and said - the photo itself showed that the function was held in 2007 - as mentioned by Prime Minister in his speech.
"Please take a closer look at the photograph, it shows 2007. When you really laid the foundation stone for Amethi and when you destroyed Amethi, please come clean," Irani tweeted in Hindi. Both the Ministers posted a photograph of the event in their Twitter missives.
Earlier, charging the Prime Minister of 'lying' on the Amethi ordinance factory, Congress president had said that he had himself laid the foundation stone of the factory in 2010. "You visited Amethi on Sunday and as is your habit, you again lied. Are you not ashamed," Gandhi said. (UNI)
