Govt appeals to opposition parties to stay united behind forces

Agency News

New Delhi, Mar 3 : In the midst of series of attack by opposition parties questioning authenticity of the India Air Force (IAF) strike on terror camp in Pakistan, the government on Sunday urged all to show unity.

"In these times, the people of India need to rise above political differences and come in unison to stand strong with the guardians of our borders," Union Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore tweeted.

He also said, "Our soldiers are the epitome of strength, valour and determination, and deserve much more from us as a country."

On Saturday, speaking at a media group function and at a rally at Patna on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lamented that opposition parties were only demoralising the forces by such comments.

Among others, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti and NCP leader Majeed Memon have demanded 'proof' of the aerial strike on February 26 and the damage it caused to the Jaish-e-Mohammad camp at Balakot in Pakistan. (UNI)
