Umaria, MP, Mar 2 : Opposition parties drew heavy flak on Saturday from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah who wondered why no surgical strike was executed during decades of Congress rule.
“The BJP had a lengthy period in the Opposition but never once spoke a language pleasing to Pakistan. Congress supremo Rahul Gandhi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee are questioning the action of the Indian Armed Forces. This is the nadir of votebank politics,” he averred while addressing the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s Vijay Sankalp Rally here.
The objective of polls should be to create a dispensation that buttresses national security, accelerates the economy and ensures public welfare; not to fulfil a personal desire of bringing one’s family to power, the visiting politician said, adding that – for the BJP – the country’s security far outweighed electoral considerations.
