Glowing tributes paid to 2 policemen martyred in Handwara encounter

Srinagar, Mar 2: Glowing tributes were paid on Saturday to two Selection Grade Constables (SgCts) of Jammu and Kashmir who were martyred in an encounter with militants in Handwara in the frontier district of Kupwara.

Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnels, including an officer, and a civilian were also killed in the encounter at Kralgund Handwara, where Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was going on for the second day today.

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir range, S P Pani and other senior officers from Army and Central Paramilitary Forces (CMPF) paid floral tributes to two police martyrs Nasee Ahmad and Ghulam Mustafa at District Police Line (DPL) Handwara.

The officers laid floral wreaths on the mortal remains of policemen who made supreme sacrifice in the light of duty. IGP Pani said two militants are trapped in the area and operation was going on. UNI
