New Delhi, Mar 1 : Questioning the silence of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on the February 14 Pulwama terror attack, BJP president Amit Shah on Friday said Imran must explain what were his compulsions behind not condemning the dastardly terror attack.
"Imran Khan has not condemned any terror attack. He must explain what his compulsions are,' Mr Shah said at the Indian Today Conclave here.
On Mr Khan's statement that he is ready for talks and take action if India provides actionable evidence, Mr Shah said, "Main itna hi kehta hun ...saboot ki baat baad main aati hai. Pulwama main jo hua uski ek baar ninda to Pakistan ke pradhan mantri karen...Do shabd bolne ke liye nahi hain (I just want to say that the matter of evidence comes later, but first the Prime Minister of Pakistan must at least condemn what happened in Pulwama. He does not have even two words to condemn the attack)."
He asked how India can trust Mr Khan when he is not even condemning the attack. "Kaise bbharosa Karen. Vo bolte jayain aur hum sunte rahen. Kya aap ki mansha nahi dekhenge hum (How do we trust him (Imran Khan)? He will keep talking and we should just listen? Should we not look through his motives)?" he asked.
"We know that governance in Pakistan is not in his control. But at least he [Imran Khan] could do lip service. Are you so helpless?,' Mr Shah asked.
The BJP president said Pakistan has to walk the talk when it comes to putting an end to terror.Criticising the conduct of the opposition, he said,' the country needs to speak in one voice when terror comes calling.'
Mr Shah said the question the Opposition raised during the IAF's airstrike on the terror camps in Pakistan after the Pulwama attack was uncalled for.He said when the BJP was in Opposition and the government of the day faced such a crisis, the BJP had stood by the government.UNI
