Kanniyakumari, Mar 1 : Observing that people's choice in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls was between two sides (BJP-led NDA and Congress), Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the 130 crore Indians were his family and he would live and die for them.

Speaking after inaugurating several railway and road development projects here, he said people has to choose between two fronts in the 2019 elections. ''While the one is NDA--its strength and stability--the other is weakness and vulnerability'', he added. Stating that everyone knew about the NDA's work culture, Mr Modi said they (the other side--meaning Congress) were and have no leadership.

''They have no aim or interest in the Nation or people and are shamelessly indulging in corruption'', he added. Slamming the Congress and the DMK, Mr Modi referred to how the DMK got cabinet berths after the 2009 polls, and said the Ministers were not selected by the Prime Minister, but were chosen over phone by those who were not in public service.

''There was bargaining for Minister posts'', he charged. Mr Modi said said his family was 130 crore Indians and that he would live for them and die for them.

''We are here to do for the Indians--not to promote one's family-- but for the development of the country and create an India where the dreams of the poorest of the poor were realised, he added. ''I am in public life to further their destiny'' Mr Modi said.

Observing that social justice was a mere slogan for the Congress, the Prime Minister said during the Congress-led UPA regime there were several atrocities against Dalits. He also accused the Congress of twice defeating Babasageb B R Ambedkar, the architect of Indian Constitution, in elections. Pointing out that the economic culture of Congress benefitted only the ruling family and those close to them, Mr Modi said "if there was anyone who spoke against it was C Rajagopalachari''.

''Rajaji hailed from Tamil Nadu and we are implementing his policies'', he said and added that because of this India was rising on the ease of doing business in the global index. (UNI)
