New Delhi, Feb 28 : A high-level committee, chaired by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, on Thursday approved Central assistance of Rs 1,604.16 crore to four states from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF), an official release said here.
Under this assistance package, the Centre has allotted Rs 1,206.62 crore to Rajasthan for drought mitigation and Rs 272.42 crore to Jharkhand.
Andhra Pradesh has been given assistance of Rs 82.65 crore for the losses suffered in the cyclonic storm ‘Phethai’ while Manipur got Rs 42.46 crore for floods and landslides.
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh and senior officers of the Ministries of Home Affairs, Finance, Agriculture and NITI Aayog were present in this meeting. UNI
