Churu, Rajasthan, Feb 26 : In his first public speech within hours of Air Force carrying out a massive assault destroying a camp at Balakot in Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday vowed that his government will not let Mother India bow her head.
'I repeat what I said in 2014 - Saugandh mujhe is mitti ki main desh nahi mitne doonga, main desh nahi rukne doonga. Main desh nahi jhukne doonga....Mera vachan hai Bharat maa ko, tera sheesh nahi jhukne doonga...(I pledge that under no circumstances, we will compromise with national pride and prestige),' he said addressing a rally here.
Applauding the Indian Air Force for the successful aerial strike on Pakistan terror camps,the Prime Minister said he will like to salute the valiant soldiers on this solemn occasion for carrying out the operation that destroyed a JeM camp in Balakot.
'Desh ki seva karne walon ko aaj ke is mahatvapurna diwas par ye pradhan sewak naman karta hai(This prime servant salutes the brave personnel on this important day ),' Mr Modi said
The terror camp in Balakot was headed by Maulana Yusuf Azhar alias Ustad Ghouri, brother-in-law of JeM Chief Masood Azhar.
It may be mentioned that JeM had claimed responsibility for Pulwama attack on February 14 which claimed lives of more than 40 CRPF personnel.
Earlier in the day, Mr Modi presided over a meeting on Cabinet Committee on Security in the Capital. (UNI)
