Shivaji Jayanti : 14-feet turban of Shivaji made

Nashik, Feb 19: Shivaji Jayanti was commemorated in a unique way by making a 14 feet turban of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by using 100 metres of cloth and 150 kg cotton.

The activists of Chhatrapati Shivaji sena worked for 150 hours to make the turban. The Wonder Book of Records presented a certificate of appreciation for this commendable job to Chhatrapati Shivaji sena. This turban was unveiled at a grand ceremony in the premises of Gramdita Kalika Mata Mandir.

Rathnashal Raje Pawar, Sonali Raje Pawar,'Shivaji charitra' exponent Kumar Navneet Yashwante, along with founder president of Chhatrapati Sena Chetan Shelar , Nilesh Shelar temple trustee Keshav Patiland office bearers were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, in wake of the recent Pulwama terror attack, the Cidco Sarvajanik Shivjayant Samiti decided to donate the funds for martyrs' families and celebrate the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati ShivajiMaharaj Jayanti with simplicity.

Every year Shivaji Jayanti is celebrated in Cidco area with religious fervour and gaiety. Samiti chairman Vaibhav Devare said," As the entire nation is mourning the death of more than 40 soldiers in the Pulwama terror attack, a fund of Rs one lakh collected for the celebration will be donated to the martyrs' families."
