Prayagraj, Feb 17 : Shankaracharya Swami Swarupanand Saraswati on Sunday postponed his march to Ayodhya for two days from Kumbh for Shilanyas programme for the Ram temple on February 21.
The seer, who was unwell and admitted to BHU hospital in Varanasi, has postponed his yatra for two days and now it will start on February 19, instead of February 17.
"The Shankaracharya would address a meeting of saints at his camp at Sector 15 in the Kumbh on February 19, before leaving for Pratapgarh, " announced Shree Dharanand Bharamachari, head of the Mankameshwar temple in the Sangam city here. He said after night stay at Pratapgarh, the seer will reach Sultanpur the next day and will later go to Ayodhya on February 21, to lay the foundation of the Ram temple.
"This would be known as Ramagrah Yatra and it would be held at any cost," the seer said, even apprehending his arrest in Pratapgarh. He said that presently, the Shankaracharya is unwell and hence, he will come to Prayagraj on February 19.
However, there is also a speculation that the yatra could be called off due to the illness of Shankaracharya, while other said that if the seer could not move then his disciple Avimukteshwaranand could lead the yatra. Meanwhile, the Akharas have announced to keep themselves away from the shilanayas programme of the Shankaracharya.
On the other hand, Mahant Paramhans Das of Tapasviji ki Chavni of Ayodhya, who also served 20-day jail for holding fast and announcing self-immolation for Ram temple recently, has termed the announcement of Shankaracharya as a politics and even termed Swarupanand Saraswati for helping the Congress.(UNI)
