Bhopal, Feb 12: The Madhya Pradesh capital and the world-renowned pilgrim destination Ujjain have been selected for the Smart City Digital Payment Awards-2018 by the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry.
State Urban Development and Housing Minister Jaivardhan Singh felicitated the staff of both places, it was officially learnt.
In the Best Digital Payment Adaptor Category, Ujjain was chosen from among cities with 5-10 lakh population and Bhopal in the 10 lakh plus segment. Ujjain is also the Best Digital Payment Innovator and the Fastest Growing Smart City Focussing on Digital Payments. While 72 cities were shortlisted in the maiden phase, 65 were contenders in phase two. (UNI)
