New Delhi, Feb 10: Hours before landing in Lucknow on her maiden visit to the state after taking over as AICC General Secretary In-Charge of Uttar Pradesh (East), Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Sunday urged the party workers in Uttar Pradesh to make a new beginning and start a 'new politics together'.
Reaching out to the party workers through an audio clip, Ms Vadra said, "Youth, women and the marginalised--everyone's voice will be heard. Let's establish a new future and new politics."
In a parallel audio clip, AICC General Secretary In-Charge of Uttar Pradesh (West) Jyotiraditya Scindia too addressed the Congress workers in UP.
Ms Vadra will reach Lucknow on Monday, along with Congress president and her brother Rahul Gandhi, apart from Mr Scindia.
During the four-day visit, she will interact with party workers and leaders across 42 constituencies, coming under the Eastern UP.
A day before the UP visit, Ms Vadra also made a significant political statement on the hooch tragedy that claimed around 100 lives in UP and Uttarakhand.
Expressing her shock at the deaths, Ms Vadra demanded the BJP governments in the two states to take stern action against those responsible for the tragedy. (UNI)
