New Delhi, Feb 10: Continuing his attack on the Narendra Modi government on the jobs situation in the country, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said that this government is a textbook case of moral bankruptcy.
Referring to a newspaper report in which an Uber driver refuted the claim made by NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant that app-based taxi services such as Ola and Uber have created over 2 million jobs, Rahul said,'Incompetence coupled with arrogance has made this govt a textbook case of moral bankruptcy.'
Following the controversy over the unreleased National Sample Survey Office’s job survey for 2017-18, which reportedly pegs India’s unemployment at 6.1 per cent, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said app-based taxi services such as Ola and Uber have created over 2 million jobs.
However, in a interview to a national daily, Uber driver Vipin refuted the claim by the NIti Aayog CEO that Ola and Uber have created over 2 million jobs.
'Govt hasn’t given us jobs. We invested lakhs, found one’,' Delhi Uber driver Vipin said in an interview to the daily. (UNI)
