New Delhi, Feb 8 : Christian Michel, British businessman and alleged middleman in the AgustaWestland case on Friday filed a bail application in the cases registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED).
CBI has alleged that Michel has entered into about 12 contracts with AgustaWestland to legitimize the illicit commission/kickbacks of Euro 42.27 million received on procurement of VVIP helicopters by Government of India. After CBI, ED also initiated proceedings against Michel under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
Michel was first time produced before CBI court on December 5 after extradited to India from Dubai and now he is in judicial custody till February 26. (UNI)
