The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Wednesday, alleged that besides the alleged money laundering case Robert Vadra was linked to a number of defence deals including the procurement of Pilatus trainer aircraft for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Addressing a press conference in the national capital, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra explained how Vadra syphoned money through a number of companies. ‘The first family of Congress is a 'bail family' and questioned why a 'road-pati' like Vadra became 'crorepati',” he said.

"Poster of two criminals has been put in front of Congress office. Both of them are out on bail; Criminal number one Rahul Gandhi, in connection with National Herald case and criminal number two, Robert Vadra who has to appear before ED today in connection with money laundering case," Patra said after elaborating upon the supposed links through which money was allegedly laundered by Vadra.

Patra was speaking hours ahead of Vadra's scheduled appearing before the Enforcement Directorate later on Wednesday.

The case pertains to allegations of money laundering in a purchase of London-based property costing 1.9 million pounds.
