New Delhi/Mumbai, Feb 5 : Days after he courted controversies for welcoming Priyanka Gandhi's entry into politics, key JD(U) leader and poll strategist Prashant Kishor on Tuesday reportedly offered his 'skills' to help ensure an emphatic win for Shiv Sena and BJP in Maharashtra.

According to sources, the offer was for both the fast approaching Lok Sabha polls and also Maharashtra assembly elections due by September-October later this year. "Thank you for your warm hospitality Uddhavji and Aaditya Thackeray. As part of NDA, we look forward to joining forces with you in Maharashtra to help secure victory in upcoming Lok Sabha elections & beyond", he tweeted after a luncheon meeting with Sena chief and members of parliament in Mumbai.

For his part, Aaditya Thackeray, son of Uddhav Thackeray, also took to the micro blogging site and wrote: "Today Uddhav Thackeray ji and I had a special visitor over lunch. Some great talks with Prashant Kishor ji." Sources said the JD(U) Vice President Kishor called on Shiv Sena chief on Tuesday at his home when a group of Sena MPs were present.

A Sena source said Uddhav Thackeray introduced the party lawmakers to Prashant Kishor. "Uddhavji asked all of us to work hard in our both parliamentary and assembly constituencies.

If you start working now we can achieve the goal by the time the polls are held," the source said. Shiv Sena has not been enjoying a very good rapport with the BJP in recent past and on number of occasions, Mr Thackeray himself has targeted no less than Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Top BJP leaders have - however - maintained that the alliance will be intact in the western state which sends as many as 48 MPs into Lok Sabha. (UNI)
