New Delhi, Feb 4 : The Rajya Sabha on Monday witnessed uproar by the All India Trinamool Congress on the 'misuse' of the CBI in West bengal, forcing a dsiruption of the house twice, the second time for the day.
As soon as the Upper House assembled post lunch, TMC leader Derek O’Brien stood up to raise the issue of misuse of the CBI in West Bengal.
Members of the All India Trinamool Congress entered the well of teh hosue, shouting sloigans against the Government.
Repeated pleas by Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu to members to allow the house to proceed fell on deaf ears, forcing Mr Naidu to adjourn the House for the day.
On Sunday , the Kolkata Police detained the CBI officials when they reached City Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar’s residence to inquiry into the chit fund scam.
Later, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sit on dharna in protest over alleged misuse of CBI in the state.
The Rajya Sabha was earlier adjourned till 1400 hrs amid uproar by AITC and other Opposition parties over the issue. (UNI)
