New Delhi, Feb 4:The National Investigation Agency on Monday arrested Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist Fayaz Ahmad Magray involved in Lethpora Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Group Centre attack case.
"The arrested terrorist Magray was an active OGW (Over Ground Worker) of proscribed terrorist organisation JeM and was a key conspirator who provided logistical support such as providing shelter to the terrorists and conducting reconnaissance of the CRPF Group centre, Lethpora before the terrorist attack on the intervening night of December 30-31,2017", the probe agency said.
In 2001 also, he was detained under Public Safety Act (PSA) by Jammu and Kashmir Police and he remained under detention for 16 months, the probe agency said.
The terrorist attack on Lethpora CRPF Group Centre was carried out by three terrorists of JeM.
The central terror probe agency investigation revealed that three terrorists namely Fardeen Ahmad Khandey, Manzoor Baba and a Pakistani terrorist Abdul Shakoor planned and executed the attack on CRPF. These three terrorists were killed during the encounter by the security forces.
In this attack, 5 CRPF personnel were martyred and 3 were grievously injured.
Accused Fayaz will be produced in the Jammu Special NIA Court for seeking police custody for further investigation and unearthing of the larger conspiracy. (UNI)
