Kolkata, Feb 4 : Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today announced to continue her dharna till February 8.
" I'll continue my dharna till February 8 because Madhyamik examination will start after that, " she added. Earlier, she charged the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre with trying to destroy every institution of the Bengal Government.
"They want to usurp power. This is a destructive mindset," she said.
Addressing the Krishak Samabesh at Netaji Indoor Stadium via Facebook live from her dharna site, the chief minister said, “I was supposed to attend the Krishak Samabesh organised by Krishak O Khet mazdoor Samiti at Netaji Indoor Stadium. But an unprecedented, emergency-like situation has been created.”
She has been on dharna at Metro Channel what she said is to save the Constitution since last evening. Ms Banerjee said, " They are practising politics of vendetta. Even civil services officers have not been spared. This has been the case for the last five years in India. "
" People are afraid to speak out. The democratic rights of people are under threat, " she commented. Meanwhile, West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi on Monday dispatched his report on yesterday's development in the state to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh through mail. (UNI)
