New Delhi, Feb 4: The Lok Sabha on Monday was adjourned for the day after Trinamool Congress members created an uproar over 'the alleged misuse of CBI' in West Bengal.
As soon as the House reassembled after second adjournment at 1400 hrs, Trinamool Congress Members, trooped into the Well, raising slogans against the government.
The protesting AITC members repeatedly raised the slogans of 'CBI tota hai' (CBI is a parrot) and 'Chowkidaar chor hai'.
Speaker Sumitra Mahajan urged the protesting AITC members to go back to their respective seats as the discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the President's address has to the taken up in the House.
Making a brief intervention, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said it is the time for discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the President's address and urged the members to give Thanks on the President's address.
However, the AITC members continued to protest and raised the slogans, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House for the day.
The first major working day of Budget Session got into a stormy start on Monday with Trinamool Congress lawmakers raising the issue of alleged misuse of CBI in West Bengal wherein the state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is sitting on a Dharna.
As soon as the House reassembled to begin the day's proceedings after the weekend break, Trinamool Congress Members were up on their feet trying to raise the issue, which they said was an affront on the federal structure of the Constitution. (UNI)
