New Delhi, Feb 4 : BJP lawmakers Nishikant Dubey and Anurag Thakur on Monday showed unprecedented solidarity with Congress member from West Bengal Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and sought his cooperation to corner Mamata Banerjee regime in the eastern state.
Before the proceedings began in the Lok Sabha, Mr Dubey told Mr Chowdhury to raise the issue of alleged deteriorating law and order situation in West Bengal and said "hum aapke saath hae (Please march ahead, we are with you)".
BJP MP from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh Anurag Thakur also urged the Congress lawmaker from Berhampore in Bengal and said he should pursue with his stand that it is a fit case to impose President's Rule in the state.
Mr Chowdhury on Sunday night made a defiant note from what his party president Rahul Gandhi has taken on Bengal situation and has said that the Mamata Banerjee government ought to be dismissed and President's Rule imposed.
"As an MP my stand is, it is a fit case to impose President's Rule in the state under the provisions of the Article 356.....The Chief Minister is trying to protect her acquaintances in chit fund scams and thus sat on a Dharna,' he has said.
Congress president Mr Gandhi, however, last night held telephonic talks with Ms Banerjee shortly after she sat on Dharna in Kolkata after CBI team was stopped by Kolkata police to meet and quiz city Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar and backed her protest against the Modi government.(UNI)
