New Delhi, Feb 1 : Supreme Court on Friday issued notice and sought a reply from the interim Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), M Nageshwar Rao, and the probe agency, CBI, after hearing a petition filed by DSP AK Bassi challenging the Centre's order which transferred him to Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The top court sought the responses within six weeks from the Interim Director of CBI, Rao, and the CBI.
A division bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi heard the petition of Bassi. The court, also comprising Justice Sanjiv Khanna, heard the petition of Bassi.
The court issued the notice and sought a response after hearing from Dr Rajiv Dhavan, who appeared for Bassi. Bassi, in his petition, claimed that his transfer order was illegal and unjustified. (UNI)
