Shimla, Jan 28: In an apparent reference to the ‘failure’ of the Congress party in implementing One Rank One Pension scheme, the BJP president Amit Shah has termed the scheme as ‘Only Rahul Only Priyanka’.
Mr Shah on Monday claimed that One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme was launched by Modi government as the successive Congress government ‘led’ by Nehru-Gandhi dynasty ‘failed’ in last 55 years to implement it.
OROP-- uniform pension to armed forces personnel retiring with the same rank and length of service regardless of the date of retirement—is a long-standing demand of Armed forces.
Addressing party’s rally-- Pannaparmukh Samalen-- at Una, the BJP president said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed the promise of OROP scheme within one year of coming to power and released Rs 8,000 crore first installment to ex-servicemen and their family members.
Mr Shah claimed that the widows of the martyr and ex-servicemen were getting cheque payment of their pension each month in their pension account with implementation of OROP by the BJP government.
The BJP president also took a dig on former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh and their son Vikramditya Singh alleging that following Nehru-Gandhi dynasty footsteps, this hill state was also ruled by Raja (King), Rani (Queen) or Rajkumar (Prince).
He said that that people of this hill state did away with Raja-Rani-Rajkumar trio by electing Jai Ram Thakur as the Chief Minister.
The BJP president said that by electing Mr Thakur, the people gave a message that there would be the chief minister, who comes from them.
Mr Shah said that women of this country toils hard to burn the smoky hearth from minus 43 degrees in Himachal and plus 43 degrees in plain. He claimed that the women never forget Mr Modi who offered them free LPG cylinder and stoves, which same could not happen in Congress rule for past 60 yrs.
The BJP president said that six crore LPG cylinders were distributed under this scheme.
Mr Shah urged the crowd gathered in Una, to ensure BJP’s victory in all the four Lok Sabha seats like previous general election.
