Kolkata, Jan 25 : Movie producer/distributor Shrikant Mohta, arrested by the CBI in Rose Valley monetary scandal, was being taken by a flight to Odisha today for judicial production in that state, official sources said.
Shrikant Mohta, chief of Shree Venkatesh Film, was arrested on Thursday after a marathon questioning at his Kasba office in south Kolkata and later at the CGO Complex at Salt Lake for his alleged involvement in taking Rs 24 crore from Rose Valley boss Gautam Kundu. Kundu is also in jail. Sources said the CBI, which summoned the movie producer several times to appear before the investigating officials, was not cooperating with the central investigation agency.
A latest report said the CBI would produce arrested Motha into the Khurda court ( Odisha) where cases of Rose Valley were being heard. The report said after the flight would land at the Bhubaneswar airport, the CBI would take the accused directly from the airport to Khurda court. The CBI would also pray to the court for the accused custody, who had been allegedly has connection with influential people.
The producer/ distributor was the second arrest by the CBI in recent time after journo Suman Chattopadhya was arrested for his alleged involvement in taking money from iCore, also a ponzi firm.
