Kolkata, Jan 19 : West Bengal Chief MInister Mamata Banerjee today stole the limelight among the galaxy of anti-BJP leaders of the country, who have assembled at the Brigade Parade ground responding to the AITC supremo's call to unitedly fight against the Narendra Modi government in 2019 Parliament polls.
Ms Banerjee called it a mega rally where she would listen to the leaders where they stand against the BJP's policy.
Ms Banerjee, who arrived early at the picturesque Brigade Parade Ground, the largest spacious open air area in the city, to welcome the visiting leaders.
Ms Banerjee called Hardik Patel first to address the gathering and another leader from Gujarat Jignesh and then leader from JMM from Jharkhand Hemon Soren.
As the all the city roads leads to the Brigade Parade ground where almost a sea humaneanity have come to listen to the anti-BJP leaders, the security forces nearly cordoned off the area
Among the leaders who arrived so far at the venue include M K Stalin, Akhilesh Yadav, Sharad Pawar, Sharad Yadav , Geong Apand, H D Kumarswami, H D Devegowda, Yaswant Sinha and others.
Ms Banerjee annouced that the meeting, scheduled to happen from 1300 hours, has been advanced by an hour so that all the leaders can raise their voice from this platform. Ms Banerjee said she will addres at the end. (UNI)
