Meera Sanyal, AAP leader and former CEO of Royal Bank of Scotland in India, passed away. She was 57.
She succumbed on Friday night after battling with cancer for the last two years. Meera was born in Kochi in 1961 to Indian Navy Officer Gulab Mohanlal Hiranandani and Banu Hiranandani.
After retirement from the Royal Bank of Scotland, Meera wed politics and joined with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Once she contested as the party’s candidate in the 2017 Lok Sabha elections at Mumbai South constituency.
She wrote a book ‘The Big Reverse’, which mostly trained its gun against Narendra Modi Government’s demonetization decision.
