Giving a real challenge to BJP, in a joint conference along with Akhilesh Yadav, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati has announced that the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will contest 38 seats each out of the total 80 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha election 2019.
Mayawati also made it clear that the major aim of the SP-BSP combine is to oust BJP out of Uttar Pradesh. Making a formal announcement of an alliance, Mayawati took a jibe at the central government, saying, “This press conference will give sleepless nights to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah.”
Mayawati also announced that the alliance will not put any candidates in two Lok Sabha seats — Amethi and Rae Bareli — for the Congress. (UNI)
