Patna, Jan 12: A day after CBI director Alok Verma was forced to bow out from the office, veteran socialist leader Sharad Yadav and patron of Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD) today lambasted Narendra Modi government for ruining independent central agencies as the present regime was suffering from fear syndrome.
Mr Yadav, in his statement, released here , said circumstances under which Mr Verma was forced to bow out from the office of CBI director, it became clear that the development was indicative of a clear cut case of pressure being mounted on independent agencies by Narendra Modi government.
When Mr Verma refused to succumb to the pressure, he was shown the door by the government, he added.
" It is a great tragedy with the democratic systems established over the years. Further, it may be mentioned that all independent organisations being ruined in the rule of the present government and the officers working there are in fear. Government should resign on a clear cut case of act of arbitrariness and dictatorship for doing wrong things in our democratic country," LJD leader said adding that on account of these wrong actions and not meeting the promises they made to the people, this ruling party would be rejected heavily.
