New Delhi, Jan 8: Claiming that the Supreme Court order to reinstate Alok Verma as CBI Director is a setback for the Narendra Modi government, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday stated that the ‘truth of the Rafale will destroy Mr Modi’.
The Congress president tweeted that the evidence of Modi’s role in the ‘theft’ of Rs 30,000 crore will come out. “The truth of Rafale will destroy Mr Modi. It’s only a question of time before full evidence of his role in the theft of 30,000 Cr. becomes public. Congratulations to the SC for upholding the law”, tweeted Mr Gandhi.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday set aside the Union government’s decision to divest Mr Verma’s official position and sent him to compulsory leave. The apex court has, however, asked him to stay desist from taking important policy decisions.
Earlier in the day Mr Gandhi said that “nothing is going to save the Prime Minister from Rafale and the evidence is open and shut”."The CBI chief was removed at 1 am because he was going to start an inquiry into the Rafale deal”, he added.
The Congress party also slammed the government and termed the Supreme Court rule as a ‘lesson for the government’.“We welcome the Supreme Court's verdict lambasting the government against their illegal removal of Alok Verma as CBI Director”, Congress said in their official twitter handle.
Lambasting the Modi government, Congress communication in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala said 'MODI means Muzzling of Democratic Institutions’.In a series of tweets, he said Modi government first lost four economic advisors in a row, including two RBI Governors, second, four SC judges went public on the death of Judge Loya and destroyed credibility and competence of the CBI and CVC.
“This is your model of ‘minimum governance, maximum government’,' he tweeted.UNI
