Ruckus in Lok Sabha; Congress raises Rafale, SP over ‘parrot CBI’

New Delhi, Jan 7 : Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha was conducted on Monday amid ruckus created by Opposition members, including Congress and Samajwadi Party.

Congress members, including Gaurav Gogoi and Ravneet Singh, trooped into the Well over the Rafale issue while SP Members, including Dharmendra Yadav, alleged that institutions like CBI were 'misused by the government.

Congress leader Mallikarjum Kharge alleged that Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented a paper in the House and then again submitted a corrected statement. He said the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the state-owned aerospace and defence company, has borrowed Rs 1000 crore to pay its staff.

Mr Kharge said HAL Chairman and Managing Director R Madhavan had told the media while HAL was always a cash rich company, its cash in hand had gone into negative.

Mr Madhvan also revealed that the Indian Air Force, Indian Army and Indian Coast Guard owed the company Rs 15,700 crore and company’s monthly expenditure on paying salary to its Rs 29,000 employees is Rs 358 crore.

Mr Kharge said the whole Rafale controversy was created because it looked that Congress was not in the favour of HAL while the BJP was.He reiterated their party demand for JPC probe into the deal. SP member Dharmendra Yadav said institutions like CBI were being degraded and misused by the ruling dispensation.

Mr Yadav alleged that his party chief Akhilesh Yadav was being being targetted by the government after he met BSP chief on January 4.

''The CBI has become a caged parrot. CBI will not vote, people will vote, '' he said and came into the Well, raising slogans. (UNI)
