New Delhi, Dec 20: The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 1400 hrs on Thursday after members from both sides including the BJP, Congress, TDP and AIADMK created ruckus in the House over Rafale deal row and other issues.
As soon as the House assembled post first adjournment at 12 noon, members of the Congress, TDP and AIADMK raised anti-government slogans. BJP members were also heard raising slogans against Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
Earlier, the Question Hour could not be taken up as the House was adjourned till 12 noon after members from both sides including the BJP, Congress, TDP and AIADMK created ruckus in the House.
In post 12 noon session, AIADMK member P Venugopal was allowed to make Zero Hour remarks on Cauvery project. He said he had requested to move adjournment motion on the issue as the people are suffering in the Delta region.
Amid din, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley introduced the Companies (Amendment) Bill. He also laid a statement in the House regarding the reasons that necessitated the urgent promulgation of the ordinance to amend the Companies Act, 2013.
A statement related to the second batch of supplementary demands for grants for financial year 2018-19 was also laid in the House.
But as the bedlam continued in the House, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the proceedings till 1400 hrs.
Earlier during Question Hour, the ruling BJP members repeatedly raised slogans against the Congress president and demanded that Amethi MP tender an apology to the House for his remarks on Rafale aircraft deal.
For their part, the Congress members demanded that there should be a JPC probe into the Rafale aircraft deal. (UNI)
