New Delhi, Dec 20: Members had a good laugh during the debate on Consumer Protection Bill on Thursday in the Lok Sabha and the chief protagonist of the drama was the jovial Biju Janata Dal member Tathagata Satpathy.
As the member from Dhenkanal constituency of Odisha was sharing his views on the Bill, Congress member Sushmita Dev could be heard raising slogans, demanding JPC probe in the Rafale deal.
Amid din, Mr Satpathy was heard responding in lighter vein to the Congress lawmaker and said ... ''this lady ...'' and enquired Speaker Sumitra Mahajan ''Should I also speak louder?'' and tried to speak in a loud booming voice drawing laughter from the members.
However, the Speaker maintained her calm and said: ''No, you speak, no need to shout.''
After a few sentences, he returned to his normal tone saying that he cannot go any further with that high pitched voice.
And the BJD member continued with his speech without any disturbance. (UNI)
