New Delhi, Dec 14: As the logjam over the next Chief Minister of Rajasthan continued, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Friday held a third round of meeting with top post aspirants Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot to resolve the impasse.
After the meeting, where AICC observers KC Venugopal and Avinash Pandey were also present, the Congress president tweeted a photo of both the chief minister aspirants with a caption "the united colour of Rajasthan".
The tweet by Mr Gandhi is seen as an indication that the impasse over the choice of Chief Minister has been solved. Sources said an announcement is likely to be made on Friday evening.
The Congress President on Thursday held two rounds of meeting with the aspirants in a bid to resolve the impasse. Till now, both the camps have stuck to their claims. Supporters of Mr Pilot have been demonstrating on Thursday and Friday morning in support of his claim to the post of Chief Minister.
Mr Gandhi also held a meeting with senior leaders of the Congress and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra at his residence in Tughlak Road. While the supporters of Mr Pilot cite his work for the party to revive in the state after the rout in 2013, Gehlot's supporters cite his wide experience to bolster his claim. UNI
