New Delhi, Dec 11: President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday accepted the resignation of Upendra Kushwaha from the Union Council of Ministers with immediate effect.

'As advised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr Kushwaha's resignation has been accepted under clause (2) of Article 75 of the Constitution,' a Rashtrapati Bhawan communique said here on Tuesday.

RLSP leader and Union Minister of State, Upendra Khushwaha, on Monday quit the NDA government, charging the Narendra Modi-led Government with implementing the RSS agenda across the country.

Mr Kushwaha, who was a Minister of State for HRD in Modi government, said his decision came after his failed attempt to meet BJP Chief Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing a press conference here after quitting the Union Cabinet on Monday, the RLSP Chief had announced that his doors are open either for going with the Congress-led grand alliance or

playing an active role in creation of the third front. (UNI)
